The leaves of Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia) belonging to the family of Myrtaceae are steam distilled to extract the oil which contains a-pinene, a-phellandrene, a-terpinene, y-terpinene which imparts spicy aroma and are known for its anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.
